Kowin Enterprise Co. Ltd.

Workflow and quality assurance

Kowin's typical workflow and quality management practices are outlined below. Please let us know if you have any questions.

  1. Although Kowin is only certified with ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949 is closely followed (see pt. 2) during PPAP (production part approval process).

  2. If specified in the RFQ, Kowin is capable of providing (with surcharge) ISO/TS 16949-compliant documents for PPAP.

  3. When a PO is received, Kowin will conduct a technical review with the client. The goal is to verify details such as
    - drawing and revision
    - dimension and tolerance
    - material
    - main process flow
    - design of tooling, mold, etc.
    - capacity study

  4. That said, for certain challenging, process-sensitive parts, we would be glad to discuss about the aforementioned details during the RFQ/quotation phase. Still, please understand that for relatively straightforward parts, we may be unable to conduct such an in-depth technical review before receiving the PO.

  5. If a fully ISO/TS 16949-compliant PPAP is not requested, then the initial sample will be delivered along with the following (not an all-inclusive list):
    - dimension inspection report
    - surface treatment test report
    - material certification
    - process flow chart (if requested)
    - quality control plan (if requested)

  6. Once the initial sample is approved by the client, what are validated in PPAP (e.g., manufacturing and inspection processes) would be applied to the mass production. For example, the parts will be inspected (with the inspection result recorded) according to the frequency specified in the quality control plan.

  7. Although Kowin mainly emphasizes on PPAP, we would be glad to work with the client to perform continuous improvement and VA/VE (value analysis/value engineering).
